Let's play catch up!

Really haven't had the time to update lately. Had I known I could post from my phone sooner, I might have been posting all along.

For the most part, riding along with Dustin has been fun. I've gotten to see places I probably wouldn't have otherwise. But, boy, are there many downfalls! Not having a bathroom available has made it very difficult. Men just do NOT understand when you gotta go, you gotta go haha! Oh, and the 'can't get a shower everyday' business is for the birds!!

Now onto things UNrelated to hygiene! The first time we were scheduled to by home longer than a few hours or an overnight, we got home two days late. Not scheduling very far in advance can become a problem in this business. We got stuck in South Carolina, and he was supposed to be home for traffic court. Unfortunately, you cannot just call and get a continuance-that requires an attorney. So, we had to hire one just to make a stinking phone call for him. Plus, I had a doctors appointment. Thank goodness they had openings later in the week when I FINALLY made it there. We weren't there long enough it seemed, but we did get to see our family. We even had a chance to take Braden out to eat.

But back to downfalls! Dustin and I are trapped inside this truck for the majority of the day. We are able to cover more miles that way, eventually = more money for us... BUT that can cause some serious tension, especially if we haven't had a food break in a while, lol. We have screamed and yelled, and I admit, I even cursed him once, but we sure have learned how long we can REALLY stay mad at each other. How long you wonder? A matter of minutes, and then we are back to our normal selves. Love is definitely amazing!

We will be home soon for Thanksgiving. For the first time in years, my mom's family is getting together! I am SO looking forward to that. :) Not that I minded last year just having Thanksgiving dinner with Dustin's family, but it is sure nice to see my family, too. We're having Thanksgiving with both this year! :) :)

Hope everyone enjoys my crazy update! Have a great day. Hopefully I'll hold up my end of the bargain and start updating more often. Love all!

New Adventure: OTR

For the ones who don't already know, Dustin has decided to go to JB Hunt as a L/P driver. This time I'll be going all over the country WITH him! We boarded a Greyhound in Little Rock, AR yesterday bound for Louisville, KY for orientation. We got here [the hotel] at 11 pm Central, 12 am *our* time. For the next couple of days we are going to be in Kentucky for orientation, then, Lord willing, we will dispatch out this week bound for no telling where! From now on this blog will be strictly covering our experiences in the truck and my views of living on the road. After we leave here, I'm not sure how often I will on the computer. I have my laptop with me, so I will be updating at various truck stops until we get wireless broadband. Everyone take care and keep us in your prayers! Love you all :)

I knew this would happen...

As I knew would happen, I haven't posted since June. I'm not real good at this "putting my thoughts on paper" deal. Not much has happened really... We went to Gillett for the fourth like I said in the last. Was worth it, just hated the long drive. Dustin has since quit his previous job and taken a job at PFG in Little Rock. Really not sure how I feel about this yet, we'll just see how it goes. I should hopefully *fingers crossed* be taking my boards in the next month or so... I've been saying that since December, but really haven't had the money. Another thing - Dustin & I are more than likely moving to Conway after the first of the year. Not something I am TOO thrilled about, but hey... we can't really live in two different towns and live together, right? We all have to give at some point. I'll only be moving 15 minutes up the road, and it will be more convienient.

I think I will end my gripe session for now... thanks for listening! :) Maybe shopping this afternoon will de-stress me!

Bare with me now...

Hello all! I have done many blogs in the past, and I'm not sure I'll keep this one up either... I'll sure try. I grew up in De Witt and was there for 20 years of my life, and I decided to up and move. It is very different here, but I enjoy it. Not to say it isn't depressing at times knowing only a hand-full of people, but I am happy with my decision to move. I'm only 15 minutes away from Conway where I can shop 'til I drop... ha, okay not that much. I just knew it was time for a different scene. I'm closer to all the shopping centers, there are better jobs here, and everything is just more accessable. Not to say that my decision wasn't a little influenced by a certain person living here. We saw that our relationship was going to be one to last but not if we were not closer to each other. My mom and my sister came with me as well, so I'm not really homesick. I will be going back to Gillett in July when Dustin has vacation time for the 4th.

Hope you enjoy my first post! Goodnight all... I should really get to bed now! :)
